| Details of 1911 Proprietor | Son of a dairyman. Originally a silversmith’s assistant and then a tobacconist. Born 1874 Notting Hill. Married 1906 Edith Augusta Ellis (1881-1944?). Children, all born Ewell – Marjorie Sarah E (‘Molly’ 1906-78, married George Gardiner), Patricia Grace (1908, married Harold J Marks), Henry Thomas (1910-80), Percy David (1912-47, married Dora McGuigan), Dorothy Louise (1917-44, unmarried). After leaving Ewell Henry went back to being a tobacconist, latterly in Battersea. He died in 1956 in London. |

 The Lord Nelson as rebuilt in 1905. The public house was demolished in 1963 to make way for shops and Barclays Bank. The 1905 building was in brick, the upper part being hung with vertical tiles and the lower part clad with rough cast. The roof was tiled. More details are here. |
