| Details of 1911 Proprietor | William Clarke, who actually resided on the premises, was born in 1859 in Hascombe, Surrey, son of a grocer. Married 1880 Epsom girl Grace Butcher c.1860-1934.
Children (both born Ewell) – William Ernest (1889, married Dora Annie Harsant Ayres), George John (1891). 1881 – Grocer’s assistant to Stephen Marfleet at Eastern Approach, Ewell; 1891 – Grocer’s assistant, living Church Street, Ewell. Died January 1948, then living at Lower Court Road, Epsom. I believe that Mr Clarke’s business partner was William Day Radford, born c.1859 Carshalton (he lived in Ewell in 1911), who died in 1930, then residing in New Malden. |
| Details of building, where known | There were two cottages behind, which housed James Richard Drake, bricklayer, and William Ramsay, road labourer.
