Details of 1911 Proprietor Born 1860 Ewell. Married 1882 local girl Emily Ann King (1860-1898); then married 1911 Ada Jane Emily Line (widow, nee Fursman; 1866). Children of 1st marriage, all born Ewell – Mabel Emily or vice versa (born 1882, married James Beach Charman), Joseph Charlie (1883-1943, then living at 4 Hawthorn Place, Epsom; married Mabel Mary Jones), Harry (1885-1930, then living at The Rise, Ewell; married Louisa Grace England), Bertie (1887-1964?, married Ellen Charlotte West), Mary Jane (1888-9), Edith (1890-1968, married Arthur George Chalwin), William (born 1891, married Ethel Florence Garwood in 1915, killed in action 1917), Ethel Mary (1892), Edward George (1893-1957, then living in Croydon; married Annie Isabel Garland), Percy (c.1896, married Nellie Dowling), Robert (1898).

Joseph died in 1930.

Note: There is a lot of name confusion with this family. For example, several of the children’s marriage certificates say that their father is Joseph Charles: the above interpretation represents my best effort!

Details of building, where known Odd numbers 1-7 West Street (south side) were apparently purpose-built as shops in 1895.
