| Occupier in 1911 | Baldwin Brothers Butchers (Manager – Arthur James Stagg) |
| Details of 1911 Proprietor | Baldwin Brothers had several shops in Surrey, including Sutton and Epsom. As far as I can tell, the family seems to have come from Uxbridge, Middlesex originally (as did Hudson Kearley, founder of the International Stores, which had a branch next door at 23).
Arthur James Stagg was born 1873 in Ewell, son of George and Jane. Married 1901 butcher’s daughter Frances Vaines (1881-1938). Children – Ivy Lily (1904-22), Arthur Charles (1905-38, married Ivy Ellen Cundy), Reginald Alfred (1907-78, undertaker, married Constance M Thorburn). Died 15 May 1954, then of 27 High Street, Ewell. |
