DESTRUCTIVE EPSOM FIRE.

The workshop, garage, and dwelling-house premises of White Brothers and Co., motor engineers, London-road, Epsom, were destroyed by fire early yesterday morning. The outbreak was discovered by Mr. Herbert Smyth, a racehorse trainer, of Epsom, who was motoring home from London, and the five occupants of the premises escaped in their clothes. Except for three motor-cars which were got out, everything in the garage, workshop, and the dwelling -house was destroyed, including several motor-cars, motor-cycles and accessories, and furniture. Two bungalows adjoining were threatened, and the occupants of one, which included three little children, were carried out and taken to a neighbour’s house. The fire brigade, however succeeded in preventing the fire from reaching the bungalows.
