| Details of 1911 Proprietor | Mr Trower had three business premises in Epsom, the others being in South Street and Station Road; he lived at Bayham in Alexandra Road.
Born 1857 Shipley, Sussex; married 1892 Mary Elizabeth Woolnough (c.1863-1930, then living Sutton). In 1911 Mrs Trower was a boarder at the Charity Lodge, Guildford, which appeared to be a kind of nursing home; daughter Kathleen was a boarder at Seaford Ladies’ College in Sussex. Children (all born Epsom) – Margaret Lucy (1893-1971 Swindon), married Robert Francis Bruce Morrison, lived Ceylon where Robert was a tea planter; Ella Mary (1894-1938), married George Edwin Marshall; Kathleen (1896-1987?), married Roy Cuthbert Ruscoe; Ralph Frank (1898-1967), corn merchant, married Madeleine Louise Wilson (divorced) and Winifred May Norman; Barbara Helen (1900-73), unmarried. Died 20 September 1925, still living at Bayham. This was Charles Barnard’s shop, but he had by now retired to Hook Road. |
