Born c.1852 Leytonstone; married 1876 Mary Phillis Wellard (c.1856-1930).

Children (3 died before 1911) – Louisa Ellen (1877 Hanover Square, London), married local council clerk Arthur Richard Cotton; Margaret Isabel (c.1881 Hanover Square), married Alfred F Furniss, son of local builder James Furniss; Mabel Phillis (c.1883 Hanover Square); Richard Fred (c.1885 Walton on the Hill-1903 Epsom).

During this project I have looked at hundreds of probate records and on many of them Epsom solicitor Arthur Fred Stapleton Cotton (1904-2003) was an executor: Louisa Ellen Brewer/Cotton was his mother.

Died 1943 Surrey.

In 1911 Brewer’s Cottage was occupied by coachman Mr William Pettit, who probably worked for Mr Brewer. This little ‘complex’ at 73-75, built in about 1675, is still intact.
