There was no occupant in residence at the 1911 census, but Mr Busbridge was the proprietor – he lived in Temple Road. In later years (e.g. 1924) Mrs Keeble of the Spread Eagle was listed as proprietor.

Born c.1848 Epsom; married 1869 Amelia Edwards (1847-1921, then living Chase Road)

Children (all born Epsom) – Henry James (1870-1948, then living Chase Road), architect, married Eva Maud Manly; Percy Alfred (1873-5); Walter Alfred (1877 -1909) of The Wellington Hotel, High Street, Epsom, married Edith Maud Finch – she remarried in 1909; Eleanor Hannah (1880-1970), married Robert Martin Heywood.

Son of a gas fitter. In 1901 he was landlord of The King’s Head in Merton and in 1881 and 1891 he was landlord of The Rising Sun in Heathcote Road, Epsom (and also, in 1881, a gas fitter).
