The Art of James Pollard (1792–1867)
This page was created just to show some of the scenes that James Pollard produced. James Pollard was a British painter noted for his mail coach, hunting and equine work. At times he collaborated with John Frederick Herring, Sr. who painted the horses while Pollard painted the backgrounds and spectators. Many of his compositions were published as aquatints but he only engraved a few himself. Pollard’s connection to Epsom is just through his art as there is no evidence that he lived locally.
